In 2020, Imagos completed a new Procurement Risk Assessment in Mongolia, by reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of the legal and regulatory framework, institutional framework, management capacity, procurement operations, market practices and supply market risks, e-procurement performance, and integrity and transparency, of country and sector procurement systems in transport and ICT, water supply and other municipal infrastructure and services, agriculture and natural resources, health, energy and education; identify and evaluate procurement risks and develop risk mitigation and management strategies. Coach decision makers in adopting recommendations.

RESULTS: Evaluation of risk arising from the country procurement system, and risk response. Improved awareness of risks emanating from public procurement systems in government. Clear understanding of mitigation actions to be taken. Greater delegation of procurement responsibility. Shorter procurement cycles and administrative burden. Better prepared procurement plans and enhanced readiness of executing agencies.
